I agree that having both would be the best option in this case. I think having 6-month subscriptions is a good plan for those who want to try out a subscription but not be immediately bound to a year’s worth of issues. At the same time, for those who know they want to continue with it, a year works as a better fit.

I don’t like the 6 month plan with Yen. I’d prefer to pay my sub up front and then not worry about it for the rest of the year, and it’s ultimately cheaper (by a buck or 2, but hey, if your grousing for money…). And to keep getting the mag without interruption, you have to pay at least 6 weeks early. It’s a bad idea. They should have both options available and let people chose which they want.
